LIVING VS EXISTING

Most people around the world go through their daily lives and don't think much about people less fortunate than them. People tend to complain about little things like problems at work or school. However, these problems are so small compared to problems homeless people face on a daily basis. In our country and across the world, millions of people live without a job, house, food etc. Any food or money given to them is a huge blessing while others will stare at an entire pantry of food and claim there is nothing to eat. I think this is a huge problem that needs to be fixed.
I believe that people who go their whole lives without giving back are just existing. The aren’t living their lives to the fullest potential. While living, I think people should do whatever they can to give back to the community. A good way to do this is by volunteering. There are countless opportunities to volunteer in your community to help others in need. Going through life without helping others is useless. Helping those who are less fortunate than you can make you appreciate the life you have so much more. I think people should want their existence to actually mean something. The best way to do this is to not be selfish.
In my photograph I wanted to portray a homeless person. This person looks somewhat dirty and scruffy as a homeless person would look. On the cup it reads, “Spare change please, God bless.” It is written on a cheap coffee cup which is easy for a homeless person to find. The homeless person is receiving money and it is easy to tell how happy they are by the humble gracious smile on their face. This shows how helping those less fortunate helps you live life to the fullest.
