Why?

Why do people litter? That is the question I ask myself everyday. I watch videos on the news of trash piling up in the ocean . I see road signs that have fines for public littering. I walk on my own school’s field and see trash everywhere. Why do people do this? In my opinion, I think it's out of pure laziness. Not littering is common sense. However, I believe most people are lazy and think dropping one piece of trash won't make a difference. If everyone has this mindset imagine how much trash would be in our environment. Nowadays, everyone is in a rush and does what is convenient for them at the time. In this case, that would be littering. What these people don't know is if they continue littering, down the road their lives will be much harder. Who knows that the future will look like if this continues.
I chose to capture this concept in my photograph. I focused in on the idea of the future. I photographed what the future might look like if littering continues. An everyday activity like walking your dog turned into a challenge. The litter is an obstacle because of how much there is on the sidewalk. I composed this photo by putting common items that people litter on the sidewalk with a dog interacting with them.
In my photograph, the character is dropping her trash. The blue container represents her laziness. The character obviously sees all of the trash, yet she doesn't even care and just adds her mess to the trash already on the ground.
